Proform Elliptical Trainers Are Not For The Serious

Though many people seem to like their Proform ellipticals, these machines are found not to be very well built. They do just fine if you are not a serious or regular user. However for daily and vigorous workouts another type of elliptical would be a better choice.

Another drawback with Proform ellipticals is that the warranty is very short,90 days on parts, and 90 days on labor. If you do decide on a Proform elliptical you should certainly invest in the extended warranty. Some people have also complained that after the warranty has run out it's been difficult to get the company interested in your problems with the machine.

Proform ellipticals are made to look much better than they are, to catch the consumers eye. For instance the Proform elliptical 800 comes with six programs,and a fan to cool you off while you workout. You can also download additional exercise programs from the net. The handlebars move to work your upper body and the unit has a heart rate monitor.

The company that makes the Proform elliptical is Icon. Icon also makes ellipticals for several other companies. When these ellipticals were tested in a lab, they were found to have problems on the first use. One of the machines had to be repaired, and the other actually required a brand new part. The lab also found the Proform elliptical to be somewhat noisey when being used.

It is important that when shopping for an elliptical you make sure to try it out in the store before you make a final decision.
