Female Mannequins: An Overview

Female mannequins are very common in clothing stores. They are often found throughout the store, from the front window where they display the store's latest and greatest fashions, to all other sections that featuring women's clothing. There are many types of female mannequins. Some are full-size figures that are completely built to the scale of a real female body, while others simply feature a torso on a stand. Other female mannequins are just heads that are used to model hats, makeup, or wigs.

Full-size female mannequins usually consist of four or five parts. The torso and head are all one part, while the legs are attached to the bottom of the torso. The arms are then fastened to the shoulders to make the mannequin complete. These types of mannequins are perfect for displaying entire outfits. They can be used to model dresses, skirts or pants and blouses, or any other types of clothing. They are also good for showing how certain footwear looks with a particular outfit. The mannequins come in a variety of poses. Some of the poses show what people will look like standing or sitting. Others are in athletic poses like running or yoga stances.

A female mannequin may just be a torso with a stand. This type is used to display blouses and takes up less space than a full-size female mannequin.

Some female mannequins are nothing but a head on a stand and are often used to display wigs. People can see what the wig looks like on people with differently proportioned facial features. Realistically colored female mannequin heads can be used to model makeup as well. Female mannequin heads make great displays for hats as well.

Female mannequins are common in clothing stores. They are great for displaying clothes and giving shoppers a good idea how the clothes fit.
